The Art of Wintering

Why Slowing Down Might Be Exactly What You Need

There’s something about June, and the beginning of winter, that quietly asks us to soften.

The pace changes. The mornings arrive a little darker. Evenings feel slower. The energy we carried through the first half of the year begins to shift – and if we’re paying attention, our bodies often ask us to shift too.

This month at Eir Women, we’re embracing the art of wintering and reclaiming the slow season.Β

Fairy apt really.Β

Right now I have completely lost my voice, which I can only assume is my body’s very dramatic way of asking me to pause. It’s forced me to cancel plans, sit still, rest and listen more closely to what I need.

And surprisingly… it’s kind of nice.

Because maybe slowing down isn’t something we need to earn.

Maybe winter was always designed to remind us that rest is productive too.

The last few months have been especially full in my world. We’ve moved our warehouse, upgraded systems, renovated our home, and in just two weeks I’ll finish my Masters in Positive Psychology.

It’s been exciting. Meaningful. And a lot.

Which is why this idea of wintering feels so important right now.

Not as giving up.
Not as checking out.
But as intentionally stepping away from the constant pressure to perform, produce and push through.

Wintering is permission to:

  • rest before burnout

  • choose softness over striving

  • nurture instead of deplete

  • honour your energy instead of overriding it

For me this season looks like:

  • lighting my favourite candles

  • drinking endless cups of my favourite teas

  • walking in the rain

  • embracing early evenings

  • curling up with my cat (honestly, nothing is more soothing than a purring cat on your lap)

Small rituals. Quiet comforts. Tiny moments of restoration. (Simple things like these 5 yoga poses can also help)Β

And because winter wellness is never just about slowing down emotionally – it’s also about supporting the body through seasonal change – there are a few Eir products I naturally reach for this time of year.

My winter shelf: three Eir essentials

Flourish – When I’m feeling depleted or flat, Flourish is my go-to for vitality and brightness during cooler days. I love that it supports detox pathways while helping reduce everyday inflammation – especially when my body feels like it needs extra nourishment.

Reboot – My winter evening reset ritual. Passionflower, Ashwagandha (KSM-66) and magnesium working together so I fall asleep faster, wake clearer, and move through winter without the fog. This one's non-negotiable on the hard weeks.

Show Up – Sniffles season. Low energy. Packed schedules. Show Up is my daily support for immunity, nervous system care and emotional resilience – plus it sharpens mental clarity all day long. My daily anchor through every winter month.

I'd love to know – what are your favourite ways to winter well?Β

With warmth and quiet,Β
